We have new premises and we are now open:Our new shop is across from The Arts Centre at 33 worcester Boulevard, Christchurch Central. 

 The Arts Centre Bookshop (www.booksnz.com) operates as a privately owned independent retailer. We are located in the historic ex-Canterbury University complex, now a hub for local artists, craftspeople, and tourists situated in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand.

Our in-house retail focus is on books by New Zealand authors, books about New Zealand or books published in New Zealand.

The people, history, culture, landscapes, and tourist attractions of New Zealand are highly unique as well as fascinating. Our goal is to have the largest database of titles from Kiwi authors, photographers, and artists as they gain larger prominence on the world stage.

The wealth and variety of New Zealand and Maori books being released now exceed all previous levels of quality and talent. We feel fortunate to be able to offer such a vast array and hope in the future to expand our horizons to include more titles from and relating to our neighbours around the South Pacific as well as Australia and the frozen heroic continent of Antarctica We invite all comments, opinions and suggestions because it is only through our customers that we can improve.

The titles displayed on this site are not always currently in stock - if this is the case when you order, we will endeavour to have the title to you as soon as possible.
